Under the leitmotiv “Ideas to feed the world”, the Argentinean Government presents the AgTech Week, from August Monday 6th to Friday 10, with the target to boost innovative farming technologies, creating business around them and positioning Argentina as a global leader in this matter.
The week starts Monday 6th at Buenos Aires and continues Tuesday at Rosario (Santa Fe Province), and Thursday at Cordoba City (Cordoba Province). Local companies as Los Grobo, MSU, Lartirigoyen, Bioceres, Asociados Don Mario, S4, Globaltecnos, between others, are taking part in the event. By the Government side, Ministry of Production, Ministry of AgIndustry, Ministry of Science and Technology and the Foreign Trade and Investment Agency are the counterpart of the private companies.
“The local AgTech industry emerges from two development engines: farming and Knowledge-Based Services, and has a tremendous potential, due to farming is a low digitalized industry at a global level and, on the other hand, Argentina has distinctive capabilities on innovation, entrepreneurship, science and technology human resources, and a set of laws to promote the AgTech development”, says a press release from the Agency.
The press release also says that representatives from Fall Line Capital will be present at the meeting. This company defines itself as a “unique capital partner for early-stage AgTech companies” and in its portfolio appears Benson Hill Biosystems, GreenLight Biosciences, and Mercaris between others.
