The Bioceres Group reports that it has signed the capital increase offered by Tecnoseeds R&D Inc., a company dedicated to research and development services in agrotechnologies, based in Indiana, United States. As part of the transaction, Tecnoseeds R&D Inc. will add the capabilities of INDEAR, Bioceres’ flagship company with 16 years of experience dedicated to the same business segment.

With the combination of both companies, one of the most specialized CROs (by Contract Research Organization, name used for this business segment) globally in agrotechnologies, with field experimentation centers and under controlled conditions in Venado Tuerto and Pergamino, will be created. Argentina; and Lafayette (IN) and Grand Forks (ND), United States; and more than 40 satellite locations. In addition, laboratories with capacities for the development and characterization of biotechnological events by editing or genetic transformation will be added, using advanced molecular improvement techniques, among other unique capacities in the industry, today based in the city of Rosario.

The combination of capabilities and geographies of Tenoseeds R&D and Indear will improve the offer of both companies to their more than 60 clients, mainly companies that develop seeds and biotechnological events, biological inputs, nutrition solutions, and crop protection, as well as developers of precision agriculture solutions and artificial intelligence oriented to the sector.

Through complementary transactions, Bioceres subscribed 50% of the capital stock of Tecnoseeds R&D Inc. and acquired 40% of Agrality S.A., the latter dedicated to the production of high-quality hybrid and autogamous seeds, with operations in Argentina and the United States. Bioceres’ investment in Agrality seeks to strengthen it as a benchmark provider for counter-season seeds, a key capacity to accelerate new technological launches.

The companies will constitute the same economic group under the leadership of Juan Cruz Lizarralde as CEO. Juan Cruz is a professional with more than 15 years of experience in the CROs and seed production industry, and is a founding partner of Agrality SA and Tecnoseeds R&D US Inc. Juan Cruz led service operations in Argentina and the United States, with In-depth knowledge of the global agrotechnology market and the companies that comprise it.
