Argentine beef exports to the United States amounted to 13,589.28 tons between January and last July, for a total amount exceeding US $ 65.9 million, which meant a growth of 2,325% in the volume of sales in comparison with the same period of 2019.

In the first 7 months of last year, sales had reached 560.21 tons for an amount of US $ 3,203,936.03, reported the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of Argentina.
Measured in foreign exchange income, this year’s results represent a rise of 1,957.5% in relation to the same period of 2019.

In this regard, the leader of the Ministry of Agriculture, Luis Basterra, highlighted “the coordinated task with livestock producers, the cold chain and Senasa so that, in the midst of a pandemic, Argentina can increase its exports of beef and supply the table of Argentines “.

“These export levels destroy the false dichotomy that they wanted to install between health and the economy” since, “not only did we save thousands of lives in this time, but we were also able to comply with all our international trade commitments and grow in exports,” he concluded .

The increase in foreign sales of food is one of the main focuses in which the Argentine Government works to reactivate the economy and grow in the generation of foreign exchange.
