Buenos Aires, April 26th. Corteva Agriscience announced that Axel Labourt (photo) is the new chairman of Southern Cone region, replacing Cesar Rojas who was transferred to the headquarters in the US.

Axel, until now Latin America Integration leader, has the responsibility to sustain the company growing performance in the region, which includes Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, and Uruguay. Currently, 20% of the global sales of Corteva Agriscience are originated in Latin America.

“We orientated the strategy to corn and soybean crops, and to provide farmers with an integrated solution for the weeds and insects control”, Labourt said in a press release.

Labourt, an Industrial Engineering from the Catholic University, entered Dow Argentina in 2001, as market researcher in the plastic business. Since 2013 he was transferred to Chile as the regional sales leader for DowAgrosciences and since 2015 he performed as Commercial Director in Brazil, until May 2017 when he was designated as Latam Integration leader.

Argentina is the fourth country as sales originator for Corteva Agriscience.
